*Covers and mounting hardware is included with all pickup orders. We offer white, aged, and parchment covers. Please specify countersunk or non-countersunk screws. Aging is strictly cosmetic and makes the magnets darker in appearance. Tele neck pickup covers can be ordered bare nickel and tarnished.

'54 Strat
This style of pickup utilizes the same
materials you would find on a vintage Strat from 1954. It is hand wound with
vintage spec formvar wire around alnico 3 magnets. The flatwork is
black vulcanized fiber.
Cool - Scooped mids and clarity with the warmth of alnico 3.
Stock - Average vintage output on this option. Typical levels of treble and mids combined with alnico 3 give a classic glassy tone.
Hot - Pushed mids and slightly cut trebles give you a thicker tone than stock.
Pre-CBS
Strat
This set of pickups replicates the sound and look of Fender 1955 -1963 Stratocaster pickups. This style of pickup uses materials and windings
you would find commonly on mid 1950's to mid 1960's Strats. Hand wound with heavy build
formvar wire with alnico 5 magnets and black vulcanized fiber flatwork.
Output and tone is classic Strat.
Cool - Scooped mids and great clarity on this option.
Stock - Average vintage output on this option. Just the right amount of treble and mids for that slightly warm and clear classic Strat tone.
Hot - Pushed mids and slightly cut trebles will give you a thicker tone without straying too far from the classic sound.
CBS Strat
This style of pickup uses materials
commonly found on CBS Strats. Plain enamel wire, alnico 5 magnets and
black fiberboard bobbins. The tone of this pickup style is slightly
colder than pre-cbs Strats. This pickup style is still hand wound for the best tone, but uses a winding pattern similar to what the early machine winders would have used.
Cool - See "Gypsy" set
Stock - The tone of this option has more mids than the scooped Gypsy tone, but not as hot as the Experience set. Good CBS strat tone with that plain enamel touch of clarity and woodyness.
Hot - See "Experience" set
"Experience" set -
This set of pickups replicates the sound and look of Fender 1965 - 1966 - 1967 Stratocaster Pickups. In 1966, Jimi Hendrix's single "Hey Joe" was released and the guitar world changed forever. In the next four years Jimi would continue to shape the music scene even as we know it today. Those first years were laden with rich, edgey classic StratTM tones eminating from Jimi's mid sixties guitars. It matched perfectly with the stylings of "Wind Cries Mary" and "Remember", among other songs. This set is made to bring that early Hendrix tone to your guitar. "Experience" sets are hand wound and use plain enamel wire, alnico 5 magnets and grey flatwork. Vintage stagger is stock, lefty stagger (or reverse for rightys) is available, as well as a vintage low-G stagger and flat no-stagger poles.
"Gypsy" set
This set of pickups replicates the sound and look of Fender 1968 - 1969 - 1970 Stratocaster Pickups. Jimi's guitar playing became more fiery than ever in 1969 and 1970. With his announcement of the "Band of Gypsys" project at Woodstock, Jimi embarked on another musical journey. With him was a 1968 white StratTM, and later "Black Beauty" as well. His tone changed as he was using more MarshallTM amplifiers, but the pickups were slightly different as well. A more scooped tone, with more edge was erupting from those huge stacks we all picture behind him. The "Gypsy" set is hand wound using the CBS pattern and use plain enamel wire with alnico 5 magnets and grey flatwork. Vintage stagger is stock, lefty stagger (or reverse for rightys) is available, as well as a vintage low-G stagger and flat no-stagger poles.
